Unrelated photo, because I don't have a related photo!

We have had a some nice days in between all of the rain and it has gotten me thinking of those wonderful, warm spring days of childhood!  When I was little I had a tricycle, as probably most did.  I loved that trike!  I rode it up and down our sidewalk all spring and summer long.  I was allowed to ride from my house to the house at one end of our block.  It was just two houses away, but I felt so free and independent!  I rode past Mr. Smith’s house, which was right next to ours.  He lived alone. He seemed nice, but my mom always warned me, “Don’t go into his house!”  It smelled really musty in front of his house.  He had a lot of ivy growing.  I wonder if he had a mold problem.  Next, at the end of the block was Mrs. Egenberger’s house.  She lived alone and she was not nice.  She had a strong dislike of children and didn’t want any noise outside her house.  I’m sure the noise of my tricycle wasn’t much and I was a very quiet child, but still she occasionally yelled.  Sometimes I turned around before I got to her sidewalk section!  In my memories I can still smell the fresh smell of spring air.  I can feel the warmth of the sun on my skin and feel the breeze in my hair, and I remember the glorious feeling of freedom and the joy of riding on that little tricycle!

What are you remembering today?  If you have something to share with us today, leave a link to your blog post or photo in Mr. Linky.  If you don’t have a blog, tell us about a memory in the comment section.  I want to hear from everybody!  Please remember to:

Your post made your memory so very real, I was taken back to a time when I felt the exhilaration of riding my bike to the end of the street and back. An epic journey at the time :)

    Hi spread your wings!
Your friendship means so much to me, too. Please don’t feel like you should apologize for forgetting to post Monday Memories. Sometimes, I almost forget!

    Hi Se’Lah!
Thank you! I had forgotten about the trike having that little step thing to stand on in the back!
