Free Crochet Friendly Ghost Pattern

October 8th, 2008 · 7 Comments

What would Halloween be without a little friendly ghost?  A little friendly amigurumi ghost!  This pattern is very simple and I almost wasn’t going to post it, but the little guy is so cute I couldn’t resist!  You can whip up a bunch of them in no time flat.  Of course, I wouldn’t do that, as I have mentioned, I don’t like to make more than one of anything except for guinea pigs!

Note: You can find the pattern for his pumpkiny friends here.  Is pumpkiny a word?

Size: approximately 2-1/2 inches tall

  • Worsted Weight Yarn. I used Red Heart Super Saver in White
  • Size G Hook
  • Stitch marker (I use a small piece of a contrasting color yarn)
  • 6 mm half round Darice Round eyes – 2
  • Small piece of black yarn for mouth

Gauge: Not important

Abbreviations: sc = single crochet, ch = chain, st = stitch

Notes: Rounds are worked in continuous spirals, do not join.  Do not turn at the end of each round.

  1. With white, ch 2
  2. 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Mark first st for beginning of round and move marker up for each round.
  3. *2 sc, 1 sc in each of next three sc* around – 10
  4. sc in each sc – 10
  5. sc in each sc – 10
  6. *2 sc, 1sc in each of next 4 sc* around – 12
  7. sc in each sc – 12
  8. *2 sc, 1 sc in each of next 5 sc* around – 14
  9. *2 sc, 1 sc in each of next 6 sc* around – 16
  10. sc in each sc – 16
  11. sc in each sc – 16
  12. sc in each sc – 16
  13. At end of last round work a slip stitch, finish off and weave in yarn end.

Using black yarn sew on mouth, and glue on eyes if you are using 6mm half round eyes.  I use a low temperature glue gun.
