Ice Ice Baby! Two

January 21st, 2009 · 6 Comments

No, I don’t want to get that song stuck in your head again!  It’s just that now we have icicles, and when I see ice, I must photograph it!  Unless it’s the ice that I am getting really fed up with.  Like the ice on our front steps and the ice on our driveway.  I don’t like to use the ice melting stuff mostly because I don’t want  Timmy to get it on his paws (he goes to the front of the house, Polly doesn’t).  Also,  I don’t want us tracking it into the house and possibly having Timmy or Polly eating any of it.  So, we slip and slide!  I spend a lot of time saying things like, “Watch out for the ice!”  “Be careful on the ice!” “The ice is reeeeally slippery!”  I’m a cautious mom.  I’m sure my kids love me for it.  Right?

Thick icicles!

Don’t you just want to break one off and lick it?!   They look so smooth and clear!

Ice, Ice Baby

Oh, yes, do you see our Christmas candy canes.  They will remain up until we get a thaw.  They’re frozen into the ground!

I almost forgot, look at what I picked up at the library today!  I put my name on a waiting list and I finally got to the top of the list!  Maybe I will learn how to improve my icicle shots!

What’s your weather like?  If it’s warm and beautiful, feel free to fib to me and tell me it’s cold and wet!

Don’t forget to check back on Monday for my very first giveaway!

I have the first Digital Photography Book and I love it! Of course, I love Scott Kelby, period.

Those icicles are amazing! They’re so pretty! We used to go to New Mexico and visit relatives for Christmas and they’d get tons of icicles around their house. I just love them!

    Hi Stephanie!

Oh, I want to borrow that one from the library, too! I can see why I’ve seen so many great things written about Scott Kelby. I really like his writing style and how he makes everything so clear.

    Hi lmerie!

Luckily, I didn’t manage to get the song stuck in my head this time! I do love taking photos of the ice, but not the slipping and sliding on it!
