Just a Bunch of Nuts, In Black and White!

November 8th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I am really loving November in black and white!  Who knew?  Here’s my image for today.

I like the way the glass dish looks and I like the shadows from the dish on the table.

My husband and I found this dish and a few others on a walk in the woods one day.  It was a long time ago, before we were married.  We went for a walk around a lake that was near where I lived at the time.  We came upon a box in the woods that was full of dishes!  There were houses in the area, so I guess someone wanted to get rid of them so they just walked them out into the woods and left them!  There was nothing valuable but some were pretty so we took a few.  Not exactly what we expected to find on a walk!

I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!  Hopefully I will have a Thanksgiving crochet pattern finished to post tomorrow or Monday.  I’m working on it.  Sometimes it’s tough to work when you’ve got a Parson Russell Terrier draped across your lap!

this is a great story…what a find walking in the woods! your photo is so interesting with the different shadows and subject I agree black and white is really a fresh way to see …I think it is more challenging.

your dog sounds like mine but he is 80 pounds so there is no “draping”

    Hi lmerie!

Yes! The pistachios are a special treat! I love them!

    Hi ELK!

I’m really liking the B&W. I feel like it’s a little more forgiving regarding focus. I like the softness of the subject not perfectly focused.
