Who Ate Our Tomatoes???

September 15th, 2008 · 2 Comments

This is a tomato plant that came up without being planted.  It’s a volunteer!  It grew right next to our front steps in a flower garden.  At first I was going to pull it out, but I decided to leave it and see what it did.  Well it flowered and produced these four little cherry tomatoes.  I was skeptical that they would ever turn red because they stayed green for a long time.  But just this past week my daughter and I noticed that our little tomatoes were turning orange!  We talked about soon enjoying them.  A small but special treat.

And then, this morning…Ack!

And my Four-o-Clock Plant that had lovely vibrant fuschia-colored flowers…

And, the Cosmos plants…

Grrr.  What is with these animals?!  They’re acting like…like…animals!  Aren’t there still enough delicious plants to eat in the woods?

    What is with that?!
I had the same thing happen out at our cottage, they critters ate all my cherries bite by bite then emptied the trash.

Anyway, I really wanted to thank you for the sweet comment on my SAJ guest post, you are so kind:)

Oh, and that plarn, that is neat stuff, what does the bag look like when you are done?

    Hi Anna!

Thanks for commenting! On the positive side, this year the animals really didn’t bother anything of mine until now. That’s not too bad; the growing season is almost over here.

I have been so bad about working on my plarn bag. It is not finished yet. I always find something else to occupy my time. When I finish it I will definitely post a photo!
