A Day at the Beach. Literally!

August 11th, 2008 · No Comments

We usually only go to the beach once a summer.  The car ride is long and boring and from one year to the next we forget that the ride is worth it.  We forget that we really do have fun once we get there!

Here’s my guy, my daughter and my youngest son looking for hermit crabs! (Click to enlarge)

My teenaged son did not share the same enthusiasm for the beach as the rest of us.  Unfortunately, it was almost completely devoid of teenaged girls!

We found hermit crabs, “regular” crabs (don’t know what they’re called) and small fish that were too fast to catch.  There were also oysters, mussels and clams.  Don’t worry, we put everything back in the water before we left!

Other years we have found a lobster and some starfish, but not this year.

We came home sandy, sticky with sunscreen, and tired.  It was a very good day!

(I had better get this posted quick, we’re under a severe thunderstorm warning and our internet connection goes out for a few raindrops!  I hear the rumbles in the distance.)
